-ED Sounds

Rule 1

When the root form of a verb ends in a t or d sound, the -ed makes a different sound. We hear / id /

Rule 2.

-ed sounds like t when the root form of the verb ends in the sounds: p, = k, = f, = x, = ss, = sh, = ch.

Rule 3.

-ed sounds like d in all other regular verbs.
